About Us
Michael O'Connor
Mike O’Connor has been the Head Coach at Harvard since 1997. He has led Harvard to National Championships in Women’s Singehanded’s (’99, ’01), Men’s Singlehanded (’04, ’18), Sloops (’00, ’01), Women’s (’05), Coed Dinghies ’03 and '24, and Team Racing in ’02 and ’03. The Crimson won five consecutive Fowle Trophies for the ICSA Team of the Year from 2001 to 2005. In 2023 the Harvard Crimson won the National Team Racing Championship! In 2024 Harvard won the Open Fleet Racing National Championship as well!
In addition to coaching at Harvard O’Connor has run the sailing programs at Chappaquoit YC, Falmouth YC and Nantucket YC. For 21 years he was the Director of the Falmouth Harbor Sailing School in Falmouth MA.
Jane O'Connor
Jane Kirk O’Connor was a three time All American Skipper at Tufts, where she won the National Championship in 1990 as the A-division Skipper. Prior to enrolling at Tufts she won the ISSA Mallory Trophy representing Tabor Academy. After graduating from Tufts she sailed Europe Dinghies on the International Circuit for several years. She competed in two Olympic Trials, and she represented the USA in the 1994 Goodwill Games in St. Petersburg Russia. Jane has coached at Wild Harbor YC, Bass River YC, Falmouth YC, Nantucket YC and Boston College.
